This is the first case of Ebola in New York.
An article from NBC News states:
A doctor just back from West Africa has preliminarily tested positive for the Ebola virus at New York’s Bellevue Hospital, city officials told NBC News on Thursday.
President Barack Obama was briefed on the case Thursday evening Homeland Security Adviser Lisa Monaco. Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo were scheduled to hold a joint news conference at the hospital.
City officials said Spencer had not felt well for a couple of days before he was tested Thursday. Medical experts say that even if a patient with Ebola feels unwell, there is no danger to anyone else in public places or on public transit unless the patient threw up, but the health department said it was trying to track down anyone he may have come into contact with.
