A question often asked by smokers, but one to which your answer should always be “yes.”
There are a so many ways to start a fire, but let’s be honest here… The easiest way is to just flick a Bic.
Lighters are a cheap commodity that so many people often overlook at the checkout counter. Even for something as simple as lighting a candle when the power goes out, or starting a gas stove when it just won’t start on its own. Lighters are great tools to have in your supplies. Not to mention they are small and can be kept just about anywhere: the glove box or center console of your car, your purse, your pocket, your first aid kit, the list goes on and on.
Aside from the obvious fire-starting capabilities, what else can a lighter be used for?
- sterilize needles
- fix frayed rope or fuse rope together
- burn a rope to cut it (though a knife would be easier, it is a lighter use)
- open a glass soda pop or beer bottle
